Live tracker on Saillogger
Saillogger tracks us constantly and gives real time updates as long as we're connected to a mobile network.
Without a mobile network, we can use Starlink, which in practice covers the whole world. Unfortunately, due to its power consumption we only have it on when we download weather information in the morning and evening. Therefore, it can take up to 12 hours between each time Saillogger updates itself.
Live tracker:
PredictWind together with IridiumGO has coverage across the globe. This is an old, solid but oh soooo slow system. Their tracking is made by automatic position updates that are sent from the unit on board Moon every hour, 24/7.
From time to time, we attach short messages to keep you guys updated on the situation on board.
IMPORTANT:
TECHNOLOGY CAN FAIL. If you know we are out sailing but do not see any updates, it probably does not mean that we have been shipwrecked, but rather that the Iridium device has failed.
